The quality assurance directorate was set up by the current Vice Chancellor, Prof. Anthony Owan Enoh in 2014. It was borne out of his passion for quality standards in the university community. It was first headed by Dr. Mrs. Bojor Enamhe who is the current Director of Academic Planning in the university. The current director, Dr. Hannah Etta came on board barely 5 months ago. The Quality Assurance Directorate of the cross River University of Technology is under the office of the Vice chancellor of the University. The directorate is responsible for the administrative coordination of the universities’ quality assurance framework and for the provision of support and advice related to the operation of the framework.
The director of quality assurance has a team of other staff members at both faculty and departmental level working collaboratively with the directorate to achieve its set goals. In line with both the vision and mission statements of the school, to establish a Centre of Excellence with adequately qualified and motivated staff engaged in quality teaching and research for the production of graduates that can compete with their peers anywhere in the world and to produce high quality and well-trained graduates and researchers in Science and Technology for socio-economic development of the State and the nation respectively, the directorate has the vision to establish and maintain an organizational quality assurance plan, enhance quality development activities through identifying good practices and development needs arising from both internal and external reviews, recognizing and rewarding excellent, quality performance among core stakeholders in the university community.
OBJECTIVE
The objective of the quality assurance directorate shall be the establishment of cyclic processes for planning, implementation, feedback and renewed planning to promote and emphasize quality enhancement through the generation of a collective self-critical and self-reflective attitude. It will ensure quality standards, promote quality development, document quality work, detect problem areas and try to correct them.
The long-term goal of the directorate is to ensure that the time students spend in the University is used effectively and on graduation, they will be found worthy in character and learning.
The director has a team of very dedicated staff working with her to ensure quality standards in all aspects of the University.
