ABSTRACT

In today's competitive global information-based economy, Information and Communication  Technology  (ICT)  has  become  the  fastest  growing  subject  in  the world. Its relevance in the field of education generally and curriculum in particular cannot be overemphasized.  ICT  usage  has  enhanced  the  quality  of  education  by increasing  learners' motivation and engagement, thus facilitating the acquisition of basic skills and teaching  effectiveness.  Through  ICT,  research  in  education  is  easily accomplished  and  instructional  presentation  has  been  made  much  easier.  Despite these  benefits,  the teacher who is the key player in the implementation of ICT curriculum is greatly handicapped. This paper examines the relevance of ICT in curriculum implementation, some challenges  faced  by  the  teachers  in  acquiring  knowledge  and  skills  necessary  for  ICT compliance.
