The Vice Chancellor of Cross River University of Technology (CRUTECH), Prof. Augustine Angba has assured host communities of the university that the university’s management will continue to cooperate with the communities for peaceful coexistence.
He gave the assurance today when he received a delegation from Efut Musaha, a community that hosts the Calabar campus of the university.
The delegation was led by Ndabu Paul Effiong Essien.
The delegation congratulated the Vice Chancellor on his well deserved appointment and solicited for employment opportunities and admission quota for Efut youths in a bid to stem social vices in the locality.
The Efut Clan assured the Vice Chancellor of a peaceful and harmonious relationship between the host communities and the institution. They equally appealed to Management of the institution to extend the Solar street light project to adjoining communities of the university as a way of curtailing insecurity around the area.
Reacting, Prof. Angba assured the members of the host communities that management will continue to partner with them for peaceful coexistence.
He pledged to sponsor ten Efut/Musaha youths intending to sit for the 2021 JAMB examination.
The VC further gave the assurance that Management of the institution is doing everything possible to improve on the security of both students, staff and the host communities. He thanked them for promising to cooperate in that regard and appealed to them to live up to their promise.
